Orion observatory

This observatory, erected by local farmer Oskar Noorkõiv, boasts a telescope with 320 x magnification, enabling clear images of larger objects on the moon’s surface. The observatory was constructed in the tower of a former Soviet dry goods silo. The ground floor of the tower houses the farm’s grain store; the second is home to an auditorium for physics experiments; the third an astronomy classroom; and the upper level holds the rotating dome in which the telescope is located.
Visitors to the observatory can study the moon and the stars and take part in a variety of physics experiments.
