Baltic Chain Memorial in Lilli

A memorial to the Baltic Chain was erected on the 20th anniversary of the event at the Lilli–Ungru border crossing point in 2009.
The memorial, which is located within the borders of Latvia, depicts seven life-size human figures cut out of a metal wall, standing in a long line. You can stand next to the figure and feel what the people felt on 23 August 1989, when nearly 2 million of them from the three Baltic states from Tallinn to Vilnius joined hands in a 600-km-long human chain to protest the occupation of the Molotov–Ribbentrop pact in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
